The polarizing pop princess adds fuel to her Internet backlash with an unsteady vocal performance.

Lana Del Rey covered Nirvana’s ‘Heart-shaped Box’ last night at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, Australia. While the band’s interpretation was interesting, Del Rey couldn’t quite hit the “hey! wait!” chorus with any of Kurt Cobain’s yearning urgency.

The cell phone video below is clear but cuts off after a few minutes, which is either a tease or a relief, depending on which side of the Lana Del Rey divide you’re standing. Del Rey will issue a deluxe ‘Paradise Edition’ of her debut album Born to Die in November.
