Maybe it’s the Summer, but there’s a lot of mystery in the air right now.

Just in case Percussions (who may or may not be Four Tet), Route 94 (who could be anybody) and Unknown (again, we have no idea) weren’t enough for you, a series of tracks by a rapper called Captain Murphy have been causing a similar fuss. Red Bull Music Academy seem to think it’s Flying Lotus, and it’s certainly somebody connected to him if not: the pair collaborated on a recent track for Adult Swim, have been conversing a lot on Twitter, and certainly share a similar love of both Madlib’s work as Quasimoto and faintly psychedelic loops (the beat for ‘The Ritual’, below, is taken from Jay Electronica’s ‘Dear Moleskine’).
