The Stones Throw funk master shares a track “straight from the lab.”

Dam-Funk describes the track thusly: “no rocket science. Just a straight up summer ‘glide’ 4 U.” We’d have to agree: the unmastered track is classic Dam-Funk, with it’s rubbery, ruptured bassline and trembling Casio-tone synths, right up until the syncopated woodblock breakdown. Dam’s I Don’t Wanna Be A Star! EP is due out late next month and includes a cover of Prince’s ’17 Days.’
