A publication with a bit more legitimacy than Celebrity Net Worth enters the EDM cash counting game.
Business magazine Forbes announced its first “Electronic Cash Kings” list, a Top Ten of EDM’s highest earners over the last 12 months. Forbes relied on Pollstar, RIAA, promoters, managers, lawyers and some of the artists themselves; even with the conflicts of interest, it’s probably a more accurate portrayal than that Celebrity Net Worth list.
Still, Tiesto is the top dog of EDM, what with his astounding average nightly gross of $250,000 (according to Pollstar). The rest of the Top Ten is rounded out by the usual button pushers, including the dearly disbanded Swedish House Mafia and Jersey Shore‘s DJ Paul D, who made at least half of his earnings from DJ gigs.
1. Tiesto – $22m
2. Skrillex – $15m
3. Swedish House Mafia – $14m
4. David Guetta – $13.5m
5. Steve Aoki – $12m
6. Deadmau5 – $11.5m
7. DJ Pauly D – $11m
8. Kaskade – $10m
9. Afrojack – $9m
10. Avicii – $7m
