The new release on Throwing Snow’s A Future Without label is a 3″ vinyl postcard.
Yes, that’s right: not content with the standard format 7″, 10″ or 12″ formats, A Future Without have had the music for their third release, With Joyful Lips‘ Ganzfeld Effect, lathe-cut onto a picture postcard. Yes, such a thing is really possible, and they’ve done it with great aplomb. The resulting artifact is very curious, quite beautiful and perhaps a little expensive (retailing at around the £16 mark), though to be fair it is limited to just 40 copies and does come with a download coupon redeemable from the label.
The 3″ of vinyl are given over to a track called ‘Suspension Of Belief’ by With Joyful Lips, an alias of Tropics’ guitarist Keith Vaz (no, not that Keith Vaz), featuring Asa. You can listen to it here, and order the vinyl here.
