Davina’s stone cold classic, ‘Don’t You Want It’, has been repressed for the first time since 2002.
The record, produced by Underground Resistance lynchpin Mad Mike [pictured], was originally released on UR’s soulful house offshoot, Happy, in 1992. It’s a blueprint of the form: straightforward, feel-good house with gorgeous keys-work and Davina’s raw vocal doing cartwheels over the top.
The record fetches 40 odd quid on discogs, so while the rest of us benefit, we imagine a fair few collector types will be crying into their anoraks. You can pick it up here and, in the meantime, listen to the extended 12” mix below.
