First Nicki Minaj, and now Kanye West: the rap stars are rumored to be joining American Idol.

According to celebrity news hustlers TMZ, Yeezy might be the next high-profile star to join the ratings behemoth as a judge, following already confirmed Mariah Carey and yesterday’s rumor Nicki Minaj.

TMZ says Idol producers reached out to Kanye about the gig; he allegedly expressed interest but is concerned that it may not be in his wheelhouse. As for compensation, it could meet or exceed Carey’s $18 million. The significantly less exciting names also on the show’s list are Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and Enrique Iglesias.

The attention-seeking Renaissance Man has stayed in the headlines as of late: his G.O.O.D. Music posse album is due out next month, he’s teaming up with brostep phenom Skrillex, and there’s that whole “dating Kim Kardashian” thing.
