West Coast rapper Xzibit’s new album, Napalm, will be released this October.
The genesis of Napalm so far is a bit of a joke, if we’re frank: Xzibit’s first album since being dropped by Koch Records after 2006’s Full Circle, it’s been promised for three years and undergone at least three title changes. The lead single, ‘Napalm’, released earlier this year, featured Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and Slipknot’s DJ Sid, though the roll call for the rest of the record is more promising: West Coast house party legends The Alkaholkis feature, as do E-40, Dr. Dre, David Banner, Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Wiz Khalifa and Crooked I.
In the build-up to the album, Xzibit will release a four part documentary following his excursion to Iraq [via All Hip-Hop]. “It was surreal when we visited real, relevant places like Saddam Hussein’s Palace and actually filmed my video and documentary in there”, he explains. “I believe I have a lot to offer when it comes to the connections I make between my personal life, the state of world events and the music.”
Napalm will be released on October 9. You can watch the trailer for the album below.
