Fresh from their unlikely duet with one of Britain’s greatest minds, Orbital are set to release their recent collaboration with one of Hollywood’s hottest properties.
As reported, Nicolas Winding Refn, the Danish director behind last year’s marvellous Drive, had enlisted the brothers Hartnoll to soundtrack his latest project. Pusher is an English language remake of Refn’s 1996 directorial debut; Luis Prieto directs, with Refn taking on an executive producer role.
Exclaim note that Orbital’s soundtrack will now be getting a full release through Silva Screen Records. The Pusher OST will arrive next month on CD, vinyl and digital download. According to Paul Hartnoll, the project was “a great opportunity to create a score that draws on both moody thriller styles and dance music in equal measures”. He also describes the project as “full of anthemic full noir moments. Brilliant”.
The film, starring Agyness Deyn and Paul Kaye, was released to muted fanfare in May. The trailer is available to watch below, as is Orbital’s 1997 reworking of the theme to The Saint.
The Pusher OST is due on October 8.
