The xx team up with Internet Explorer to promote Coexist with an interactive visualization.

With The xx’s highly anticipated follow-up album due next week, the London band is now streaming Coexist on their own site. Beyond a typical stream, the site also includes a novel approach to visualizing how the stream is being shared across the world.

Taking the album’s title to heart, the visualization animated shares (via Twitter, Facebook, and email) as rays of light between geographical points. Adjustable by date, the map glows as the album emanates from London to points across the globe.
