The industrial necksnapper ‘Weigh Me Down’ gets an equally foreboding video.

On his Ninja Tune debut Ask The Dust, Milwaukee’s Marcos Ortega was as confrontational as ever, building oppressive beats and soundtracking the apocalypse, but with emotion and melody intact. The standout track, the fidgety ‘Weigh Me Down,’ managed the agony-ecstasy dichotomy quite well.

The video for ‘Weigh Me Down’ is a red-dawned, 8-bit view of industrial mayhem. Like a classic side-scroller, the stakes get higher… up until the protagonist becomes a bull god, gets crucified, is reborn, and has his revenge (just like a classic video game). The creepiest element may be the Rorschach in the sky from which the song’s ghastly vocals emit.
