This year’s edition of the Alpha-ville Festival might have been cancelled, but the organisers have still managed to pull together some exciting showcases in its stead.
The organisation have announced two separate event, both set to take place on Saturday October 6. As might be expected, the programming is decidedly cerebral.
The Hackney Empire will host an evening of top-notch experimental artists. The Field will be showcasing his fabulous brand of loop-play, with Alpha-ville promising an “intimate live solo” show. Byetone, whose 2011 Symeta LP proved highly effective, will be appearing with a full audiovisual set. The night will also welcome the premiere of a collaboration between veteran ambient artist Murcof and AntiVJ.
The Hackney Picturehouse, meanwhile, will be showcasing a range of experimental video material, incorporating music videos, experimental film, interactive pieces and animation. Further information and tickets are available from the Alpha-ville website.
