Last Monday brought the dreadful news that three people had been killed in a traffic accident on their way back from the festival.

On September 10, a coach carrying ticket-holders struck a tree on the A3 road at Hinehead, Surrey.  Three passengers – Michael Molloy, 18; Kerry Lynne Ogden, 23; and driver Colin Daulby, 63 – were declared dead on the scene, and a total of 50 passengers were injured.

BBC News now report that festival boss Rob Da Bank has set up a fund in aid of those affected by the crash. Taking to Twitter, the DJ wrote: “We will be launching a @Bestival fund for those affected by the crash in next 24 hours…and appreciate how many people wanna help/donate :)…Sendin out positive vibes from the @bestival family to all those affected and recovering from the a3 crash..especially Zach Washington-young.” The man in question is described as having “life-changing injuries”.

The fund has yet to be launched, with Rob Da Bank just negotiating “red tape” to get it fully installed – keep an eye on his Twitter for further details.
