The free-jazz cover album The Cherry Thing receives a remix version.
Earlier this year, pop veteran Neneh Cherry teamed up with jazz trio The Thing, covering a wide range of songs on the strikingly accessible The Cherry Thing. Now, those covers will undergo further interpretation.
Smalltown Supersound will release The Cherry Thing Remixes EP on November 12 (November 13 in the US). The EP features work by Four Tet, Jim O’Rourke, Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, Merzbow, John Eriksson of Peter Bjorn and John as Hortlax Cobra, and more.
This summer, Four Tet’s remix of ‘Dream Baby Dream’ (originally by protopunks Suicide) received a sleek video, which you can watch below. The tracklist to the remix EP follows. [via Pitchfork]
