‘Plague’ gets a video, ahead of a new single out this week.
Originally a fan video by Ivan Grbin, the band was so enamored with ‘Plague’ that they made it the song’s official clip. As Pitchfork points out, the video is comprised of footage from Andrzej Zulawski’s 1981 film Possession.
Just as ‘Plague’ is familiar sonic territory for the synth marauders, so is the video: a possessed woman thrashes and seizes her way down a tunnel, and a ballet practice borders on torture and breakdown.
Crystal Castles’ as-yet-untitled third album was recently pushed back to November. New single ‘Wrath of God’ is due out Wednesday.
