This month, Bristol-based techno head Artifact will release a new EP, titled Worn.
Based in the second city of dubstep (or whatever you want to call it), but raised in Swindon, Worn‘s title track sees Artifact look to that unfairly forgotten – by most, anyway – UK dance scene, the bassline house sound that orbited Sheffield club Niche, while the rest of the EP stalks a scuzzy middle ground between garage and techno, all mineshaft snares and gutted-out basslines. Worn will be released on Local Action on October 8 [full disclosure: a label run independently by FACT staff member Tom Lea], on white stencilled vinyl and digital.
