Forward thinking ivory-tinkler Hauschka has announced a new remix album, and he’s recruited some serious firepower for the set.
We first meted out news about the forthcoming Salon des Amatuers Remixes when we posted Patten’s mangled take on ‘Two AM’ last month. Full details have now emerged about the collection, inspired by the Düsseldorf producer’s 2011 piano-heavy house album Salon des Amateurs .
As Resident Advisor report, the album features remixes from minimal supremos Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer and meticulous mad professor Matthew Herbert. Kompakt’s Michael Mayer, Raster-Noton boss Alvo Noto and Vladislav Delay are among the illustrious names set to feature. Steve Bicknell, Vainqueur, Hauntologists, and fellow Düsseldorf producer Tolouse Low Trax also contribute.
Some of the material on Salon des Amatuers Remixes will already be familiar: the Villalobos/Loderbauer, Mayer, Vainqueur and Bicknell remixes appeared on two companion 12″s, issued by FatCat earlier this year. The lion’s share, however, are brand new.
Salon des Amatuers Remixes is due on November 9 on FatCat.
