Jim O'Rourke's Tokyo ATP festival cancelled

It’s another blow in a rough year for the festival organizer.

Earlier this year, All Tomorrow’s Parties went into administration. Now comes word that the ATP festival has cancelled its Tokyo event. Already postponed from April, the event was to be curated by experimental artist and Tokyo-resident Jim O’Rourke.

According to Pitchfork, the original postponement was due to “low ticket sales.” The cancellation is a result of “the venue’s availability and scheduling problems with artists.” Refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Along with O’Rourke himself, performing his art pop classic Eureka, the lineup was to include Neu!’s Michael Rother, Codeine, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Nisennenmondai, the Magic Band, the Drones, Factory Floor, the Necks, and Borbetomagus. A 2013 event is currently being planned.
