DJ Muggs returns with ‘Bow,’ a trap-inflected single off his upcoming EP.
Born Lawrence Muggerud, DJ Muggs is best known for being a founding member of Latino hip-hop pioneers Cypress Hill. After producing the group’s music for nearly two decades, Muggs’ solo work finds him experimenting with the contemporary sounds of bass-heavy hip-hop.
‘Bow’ is the first single off Soundclash Business, out October 16 via Mishka Records. The EP features an appearance from New York rappers A$AP Rocky and Chuck Inglish. The track is an aggressive head-nodder, fueled by Muggs’ dexterous MPC triggering, and the video takes place in some dusty underground dance/fight club.
