SpaceGhostPurrp and the Raider Klan’s affinity for Three Six Mafia is no secret.
The hardcore rap legends loom large in the Raider Klan world, with slowed, Memphis-style beats and a nightmarish aesthetic central to their growing oeuvre.
The latest offering from the young crew is ‘Mask and a Gloc,’ a reworking of Three 6 Mafia’s ‘Mask and da Glock.’ The track appeared on the group’s 1994 mixtape Smoked Out, Loced Out as ‘Victim of a Driveby’ and was renamed for the group’s Underground Vol. 1 compilation.
Both toddlers when the song was originally released, Yung Simmie and Amber London team up on the menacing rework, which updates the beat but keeps the original’s ghastly uneasiness in place. The pair appeared, with the rest of the Raider Klan, on a recent “greatest hits” compilation.
