New York’s L.I.E.S. label have announced a double-disc compilation, American Noise.
Standing for Long Island Electrical Systems, the Ron Morelli-run imprint has built up a sterling reputation on the margins of dance music, on the strength of releases by Bookworms, Legowelt, Willie Burns and more.
As notable L.I.E.S. fans Juno Plus report, American Noise “grant[s newcomers] a chance to indulge in some ten tracks that have featured on their limited vinyl only releases to date and are now out of print. The ultra limited White Label series is heavily represented, with inclusions from Maxmillion Dunbar, Bookworms, Terekke and Vapauteen notable highlights, while some of the label’s earliest eye-catching releases from Steve Moore and Legowelt are included along with a more recent slice of brilliance from Svengalisghost.” There’s also unreleased material from Legowelt, Bookworms and more.
American Noise will be released on December 1, with cover art designed by Black Dice’s Bjorn Copeland.
