Out of the Emeralds camp, Steve Hauschildt’s solo work is typically the most conventionally pop-orientated.
The synth player is gearing up to drop Sequitur – his third solo LP proper, and his second for ambient standard bearers Kranky. Described as an extension of last year’s dreamy Tragedy & Geometry, the album promises a collection of analogue excursions and vocoder-led synth fantasias.
In contrast to the title, ‘Interconnected’ sounds like it’s floating adrift. Arpeggiators whirr, OPN pads hang in the background, and there’s some Far Side Virtual-esque percussion programming to boot. The track also comes with the requisite no-budget CGI video, which goes heavy on the lilac. [via Pitchfork]
Sequitur will arrive on November 12.
