It’s ten years since TLC’s Lisa ‘Left-Eye’ Lopes was tragically killed in a car crash in Honduras.
Rumours that the group might use hologram technology to resurrect Lopes circulated back in April, but it appears that the plans are now even closer to fruition. Metro report that the group are seriously planning to reconvene once again as a trio, using the same projection techniques that brought Tupac back from the dead at this year’s Coachella festival.
Speaking to the paper, Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas said: “The hologram is something we talked about and thought about years ago, obviously timing is everything but we’re definitely talking about it”.
“It will be hard on us but I certainly think our fans would love to see it. We would definitely be the first group ever to do it. I think we would probably pass out and all of our fans would break down but it’s amazing how real the hologram looks, it’s almost like you can touch the person. It’s great but spooky at the same time but we’re definitely thinking about it”.
TLC were awarded the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award at the MOBO Awards last weekend. Stooshe’s cover of TLC’s signature track ‘Waterfalls’ was recently given a bassline remix by DJ Q.
