Brian Eno’s just dropped his first LP in seven years, and he’s celebrating with a Day Of Light.
LUX has previously been available to stream in full, but now Eno is giving fans an opportunity to enjoy a much richer experience of the record. As XLR8R report, Eno has assembled a roster of artists to produce a live interactive online happening in honour of the disc.
LUX is avowedly themed around the “play of light”, and the online LUXperience correspondingly uses light as its principal motif. On November 17, users will be encouraged to send in images and photos based around the theme, which Eno and co will then curate and arrange in real-time as the album is streaming. Eno’s particular request is that participants “take pictures of subjects as the light of your day changes, perhaps out of the window of the room where you are listening to the album”.
There will be four performances over the course of the day. An email reminder can be set up via the Day Of Light mini-site or the event Facebook page.
