Few will have missed the terrible news yesterday about the unexpected death of young composer and pianist Austin Peralta. 

Peralta, a pivotal member of Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder crew, passed away yesterday. He was only 22. Tributes from fellow artists have continued over the night, with Dam-Funk, Oneohtrix Point Never and Hudson Mohawke  all offering their condolences online.

By way of tribute, Amon Tobin – who, through Brainfeeder affiliates Ninja Tune, shared a parent label with Peralta – has uploaded the pianist’s remix of his own ‘Bedtime Stories’. Peralta’s short ‘reinterpretation’ is plucked from Tobin’s recent Boxset collection – a stately, glacial treated piano piece, it’s a beautiful proof of a bright talent extinguished too soon.
