Indie eccentric Bradford Cox is making a break for Tinseltown.
The Dallas Buyers Club is the forthcoming film from Canadian director Jean-Marc Valleé, best known to UK audiences for 2009’s The Young Victoria. Matthew McConaughey takes the lead, playing AIDS sufferer and campaigner Ron Woodruff. Jared Leto also stars as a transvestite suffering from the disease, and Cox has signed on to play his lover. Jennifer Garner and Denis O’Hare are among the other sizeable names on board for the project. [via Pitchfork/The Hollywood Reporter]
The Dallas Buyers Club is currently shooting in the US. If you fancy watching another feature-length Cox project, we’d advise revisiting his marathon onstage freakout from earlier this year – in response to an unsolicited audience request to play ‘My Sharona’, Cox subjected the crowd to an hour-long cover version of Dantean proportions.
