Jack Dixon’s cockle-warming strand of house music as been turning up in all sorts of quarters through 2012,
The young producer’s been toiling away in recent months, knocking out a 12″ for Hotflush and dropping an EP of humid house for Leftroom. Chalk up his fine release for the resurgent Apollo imprint earlier this year, and you’ve got a very worthy discography indeed.
Dixon’s latest offering is a great three-track EP, simply titled 1 – and he’s giving it away for nothing. Lead track ‘Sequin’ is a lovely bit of swung house, with some chunky drum work strongly reminiscent of you-know-who. ’10 Years’ is adds some Balearic flavour, whereas the techy ‘Margo’ offers something a bit tougher. Will it be the last thing he drops this year? We wouldn’t bet on it.
