Jay-Z gives fans a gift on his birthday.

Via his Life + Times Youtube channel comes Where I’m From, a 24-minute documentary of Jay-Z’s eight night residency at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center.

The story begins with the construction of the arena and ends with what Jay considers his “finest moment performing:” his last performance of The Black Album’s ‘Encore’. The points in between cover what was a once-in-a-lifetime production for everyone involved.

Jay executive produced the clip, which was directed by Dustin Nakao Haider. Between this and Beyoncé’s upcoming full-length documentary, fans are seeing a different side of the Carter-Knowles clan.
