Next up on FACT’s 2012 Advent Calendar: an unreleased bit of beat alchemy from Atlanta bass freak Distal.
The Atlanta-based producer/DJ had a busy 2012, prepping EPs for Well Rounded Individuals and Trouble & Bass, dropping his full length debut Civilization on Pinch’s Tectonic, and releasing a handful of EPs on his own Embassy imprint. Between all that, he managed to find the time to share tracks with FACT, including his rework of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Song For Shelter’.
Like his ‘Battle for ATL’ and ‘Ralph Muggins Acid Depot’, ‘NASA’ finds Distal crossbreeding booty bass, club music, acid squelch, and rap samples in a shifty tribute to the Dirty South. Download the track below.
