Bandshell released his first record last year through Hessle Audio, and will start 2013 with a new release, Caustic View, on Liberation Technologies. 

We picked Liberation Technologies as a label to watch in 2013, and Bandshell’s certainly one of the most interesting up-and-comers around. We were aware of him a couple of years before his Hessle Audio release due to a series of lonely space-funk tracks uploaded to Soundcloud (now all deleted), but last year’s degraded ‘Moleskin’ marked an artist with new-found intent, and his Hessle Audio EP was even crunchier and weirder. Which wasn’t to say it wasn’t danceable, because when DJs used it right it really worked.
