Cut Hands and Dalhous

William Bennett will appear at London’s Cafe Oto on Thursday 21 March in his celebrated “afro noise” incarnation, Cut Hands.

The Whitehouse founder’s well-practiced battery of African percussion, searing electronics and voodoo exploitation visuals is by turns violent and meditative, brutal and beautiful, and his extensive touring as Cut Hands over the past two years have shown it to make tremendous sense in peaktime nightclub and seated auditorium alike. This performance follows the release of Cut Hands’ second album, Black Mamba, in late 2012.

Support comes from Edinburgh duo Dalhous, who recently debuted on the Blackest Ever Black label [full disclosure: independently operated by FACT staff member Kiran Sande]. Having developed a cult following for their Young Hunting project, as Dalhous Marc Dall and Alex Ander trade in the gothic imagery, rich orchestration and ritualistic drums for a cleaner, simpler but no less emotive sound. This live set, their first ever in London, should provide a nice contrast to the gleeful extremity of Cut Hands’ headline show.

The gig is being organised by BleeD, and tickets are available to buy here.
