Katowice’s OFF Festival is back for its eighth edition.
A handful of acts have been announced, and it’s a pretty classy selection thus far. Laurel Halo is one of the most remarkable leftfield electronic artists around, experimenting with off-kilter songcraft (last year’s Quarantine) and tactual house/techno (as King Felix). As with her recorded output, her live show is thoughtful, considered and often surprising. Indie heroes Deerhunter will also be live and in full effect; if previous live form is anything to go by, expect extended wig-outs and krautrock jams alongside short, snappy guitar pop. Scruffy Sub Pop trio Metz, buzzed-about post-punk combo Merchandise and crooner Jens Lekman are also on the bill.
The festival takes place on August 2-4 in Katowice, Poland. Tickets and further information are available here.
