Croatia’s Outlook festival has announced its first list of acts for 2013 – and it’s a beast of a bill.
There are some major hip-hop names on board: conscious rap figurehead and Black Star MC Talib Kweli tops the bill; the endlessly rewarding Jay Electronica will also be along with (we hope) a new album to tout; and Pharoahe Monch and The Pharcyde will be both be appearing live. Mala will be showing off his digital-meets-instrumental Mala In Cuba show, and he’ll also be appearing with Coki as Digital Mystikz to boot. Hyperdub boss Kode9 will be bringing his usual selection of future sounds, and fellow leftfield dance explorer Boddika will also be along for the ride.
US garage don Todd Edwards is on the bill, as are similarly seasoned figures Goldie and David Rodigan. Other highlights on the huge line-up include rising rapper Joey Bada$$, Bristol’s finest Pinch, Numbers leading light Jackmaster, 2-step don DJ EZ, and warped chanteuse Cooly G. Further reasons to celebrate: Dorian Concept, Zed Bias, Loefah, dBridge, Machinedrum, Pariah, Terror Danja, Eglo Live Band, Koreless, Scratch DVA, Route 94, Ossie, Pariah, Beneath, Champion, South London Ordnance, Throwing Snow, Hackman, Kahn, Elijah & Skilliam, XXYYXX and Andy C. More acts are yet to be announced.
Outlook takes place in an abandoned 19th century fort in Pula, Croatia, from August 29 to September 2. Tickets and further information are available from the Outlook website.
