Bowie’s back. Justin’s back. Kris Kross are back. And now The Strokes are back.
As Consequence Of Sound report, the kings of suave garage-rock revivalism have a new single in the works. Seattle radio station 107.7 The End have reported on Facebook that they are primed to premiere a new Strokes track, titled ‘All The Time’, although they have yet to stipulate precisely when the track will drop.
‘All The Time’ is supposedly taken from The Strokes’ forthcoming fifth album, which the band have reportedly been working on over the last six months or so. Their last LP was 2011’s Angles.
Update: The End have now supplemented their initial post with a second missive on their website, which states that RCA will release a new album from the band later this year. The post reads as follows:
As a few of you may have caught wind of, late yeseterday we spilled the beans that we’d had the chance to preview new music from The Strokes. While RCA is keeping most of the details of the forthcoming new full length album (yes, you read that correctly) under wraps, we can tell you that of the two songs we heard, one was a more synth driven track, with the other (the aforementioned, “All The Time”) packing a classic Strokes sound. No mention of a tour came up, but we can tell you, you’ll be hearing new music from the band sooner than later, with the new album to be released later this year.
