Ohio-born producer John Roberts will return in 2013 with a second LP of heady, romantic house music.
Back in 2010, Roberts followed a string of promising EPs with the wonderful Glass Eights LP – about as lustrous and elegant a house record as Dial had released since Pantha Du Prince’s This Bliss (and, deservedly, one of our favourite albums of that year). Roberts made a return of sorts last year with the Paper Frames EP, a knottier, stranger release full of modern classical flourishes. He’s also kept busy with remixes for Blondes, Motor City Drum Ensemble, George FitzGerald and more.
Last night, Roberts took to Facebook to confirm that a new LP will arrive later this year. Roberts’ message reads: “SECOND FULL LENGTH ALBUM IS NOW FINISHED AND WILL BE RELEASED THIS MAY ON DIAL RECORDS”.
Last year, FACT spoke to Roberts about his forthcoming material (spoiler: he didn’t tell us very much). Paper Frames’ title track is below. [via Resident Advisor]
