Last year, a reported collaboration between Frank Ocean, Nas and Hit-Boy (the producer behind Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Backseat Freestyle’ and Jay-Z & Kanye West’s ‘Niggas in Paris’) didn’t make the cut for Nas’s album Life is Good for a frustrating reason – the files were lost.
Now, according to Hit-Boy, the files for the track have been recovered, and we should be hearing it soon. Well, “one day”, anyway. In an interview with MTV, Hit-Boy explains that the track, titled either ‘No Such Thing as White Jesus’ or simply ‘White Jesus’, “got mixed up with some drives that Kanye’s engineers had, and they finally they sent it back and I got the files now. Nas’ manager reached out, and he’s excited. I don’t know exactly what’s gonna happen with it yet, but that song is gonna be heard by the world one day.” Here’s hoping.
