Little Boots — remember her? — shares new music under the alias “LB.”
English electropop artist Victoria Hesketh rode (and was subsequently crushed under) a wave of hype back in 2009. While a follow-up album has been in the works for some time, XLR8R reports on an interesting new development for the singer.
Released last week on 2020Vision, a new 12″ features Little Boots as LB, with production by rising house talent Maya Jane Coles and SMD’s James Ford (on ‘Superstitious Heart’) and London-based Baunz (on ‘Whatever Sets You Free’). Hesketh’s vocals and the mellow vibes of the A-side are an interesting pairing, while the techy B-side is more inline with her earlier work.
The vinyl version includes both tracks, along with instrumental and dub versions, while a two-part digital package includes remixes Ralph Lawson and PBR Streetgang. Released with little fanfare, Piccadilly Records weren’t even sure “who LB is” (or were just being coy).
