Hip-hop producer Danja shares the tune as part of his Throwback Thursday video series.

At about 2:34 in the below video, Danja plays ‘Doobie’, a bouncy pot-anthem that he produced for M.I.A. ‘Doobie’ was recorded in 2007, at the same time as M.I.A.’s similarly Middle Eastern-tinged ‘Bad Girls’ (which he also produced).

M.I.A.’s fourth album, Matangi, is due out in April. It was allegedly delayed because her record label, Interscope, found the tone to be too positive. [via Rap-up]
