Wolfgang Voigt and Michael Mayer’s Kompakt imprint is pulling out the stops to celebrate 20 years of operation.

The Cologne label’s journey began 20 years ago on Gladbacher Straße 36, where Voigt (alongside brother Reinhard, aka Sturm), Jurgen Paape and Jörg Burger opened up the Delirium record store. Although the label didn’t begin official operations until 1998, the minimal house institution are treating 2013 as their emerald anniversary. A host of festivities are promised, including a European tour and a mini documentary about the label.

As Resident Advisor report, Kompakt 20 Jahre Kollektion will be the first in a string of Kompakt retrospectives released in 2013, and offers a broad survey of the label’s 500+ release history . Key players like Justus Köhncke, Matias Aguayo, DJ Koze, Gui Boratto and The Field all feature, as do Voigt and Mayer.

Kompakt 20 Jahre Kollektion will see release on March 18.
