As L.I.E.S’ star has risen, so has Brooklyn producer Terekke.
In its short lifetime, Ron Morelli’s imprint has provided a home for seasoned veterans (Legowelt, as Trackman Lafonte), oddballs (Jahiliyya Fields) and indentured newcomers. Terekke, like Delroy Edwards, falls into the latter camp. The Brooklyn producer’s star-cross’d house music first got an outing on 2011’s Damn EP, a dreamy collection of analgesic synth tones and rickety drums. He also made multiple appearances on L.I.E.S’ essential American Noise primer (including the lovely ‘Asidis’) and his Soundcloud page has been a rich source of blissful, blanched house music.
As Juno Plus report, Terekke now has a second 12″ on the way, the proofreading-proof Yyyyyyyyyy. The disc will feature three new tracks of “narrative, breathing, basement house with subtle morphing chords and heavy tape hiss.” No release date as yet, although there is some cosmic cover art, available to gawp at below.
