The teaser for ‘Always’ is as tantalizing as it is brief.
As Spin reports, YYY frontwoman Karen O has said, “I think this record has more moodier and tripped-out songs than you’ve ever heard from us.” That oblique description applies to ‘Always’, the latest glimpse of the band’s forthcoming album Mosquito.
Mosquito is due out on April 15. The band’s fourth album, it was mostly produced by long-term collaborator Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio, Telepathe) and Nick Launay. One of the album’s most anticipated tracks was produced by James Murphy and features Kool Keith under his Dr. Octagon guise.
Along with a few UK dates and an appearance at Maryland’s Sweetlife Festival, Consequence of Sound reports that the band will play Austin’s Stubbs on March 13 as part of a SXSW lineup that also includes Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
