Techno veteran Richie Hawtin may be seen by most as a guardian of minimal, but he’s no stranger to going head to head with big names of the more maximal EDM sect.

Hawtin interviewed Skrillex for Mixmag last year, and SXSW 2013 will see the M-nus boss in discussion with deadmau5. The two musicians, both Canadian and – regardless of what you think of their modern-day musical output – leaders in their field, will be discussing their careers “with a huge focus on innovations in technology and the power of social media”. Hawtin has a particularly keen interest in the latter: his Twitter feed is a rolling playlist that collects everything played on his DJ sets, and he debated Twitter and more at last year’s Sonar festival.
