A few months back, quickfire producer Machinedrum turned to Twitter to figure out a title for a then-hypothetical compilation of rejected remixes. Our suggestion, “more of the vocal?”, didn’t make it – we’re sure you’re as upset as us. 

Either way, the compilation – titled Nice Effort – is now available to stream via Machinedrum’s Soundcloud. It collects unreleased Machinedrum remixes from 2005-2010, with “some made for fun” (we’re guessing that’s Aaliyah and Missy Elliott, at least) and others “for hire”. The mixdowns are, by Machinedrum’s own admission, questionable – but then things usually don’t get mastered if they’re not going to make a release. Check it out below.
