The psychedelic sci-fi/Western is soundtracked by a bit of rave nostalgia.
In FACT’s review of Physical Therapy’s Safety Net EP, Steve Shaw described ‘Do It Alone’ as a song that “takes on breakbeat house reminiscent of the mid-90s, mashed through the typically twisted imagination of any artist invited to be part of the Hippos In Tanks aesthetic.”
That same “twisted imagination” is on display in the song’s video. Directed by jude mc, animated by Obinna, and styled by Haley Wollens, the clip features a narrative that underscores the message of song’s title, with the same disregard for genre as the song. In press materials, Daniel “Physical Therapy” Fisher is fond of a ten-gallon hat; is that his avatar in ‘Do It Alone’?
