After a bit of album opener ‘Sherane A.K.A. Master Splinters Daughter’, the video launches into the Janet-sampling ‘Poetic Justice’. In hood film (and unfortunately, realistic) fashion, a Compton get together is broken up by gunfire and the video ends in tragedy. Unfortunately, while guest rapper Drake (and a barely-dressed paramour) shows up, Ms. Jackson did not answer Lamar’s call to appear in the video.
