Listen to the final part of Joseph Deenmamode’s satisfying EP trilogy for One Handed Music.
Over the last 18 months, the Anglo-Mauritian producer has dropped a pair of rewarding EPs, synthesising Mascarene Sega music, dub, skeletal hip-hop and Afrobeat. Like Drum Talking and Banana Wine before it, Tusk Dance is another charming set of musky soul and dubby exotica. The 12″ also comes bundled with a remix from SA-RA Creative Partners alumnus Shafiq Husayn, plus a supplementary instrumental. Somewhat incongruously, Tusk Dance is dedicated to Keira Knightley – to try and work out why, stream the EP below.
Tusk Dance is out now.
