Bobby Brown sentenced to 55 days in jail on drink driving charge

Not for the first time, Bobby Brown is looking at a stint behind bars.

Back in October 2012, the New Edition singer was picked up by police near Los Angeles after being spotted driving erratically. Having failed a sobriety test, Brown was arrested on DUI charges – the second such incident within a year.

As Rolling Stone report, Brown has been sentenced to 55 days in jail on charges of driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. Brown failed to turn up to the L.A. courtroom, but his legal representative enter a plea of no contest on his behalf. The singer also faces four years probation, and has been ordered to sign up to an alcohol counselling programme. He is also required to install an ignition locking device on his car.

Brown’s sentence will begin on March 20. His last album, The Masterpiece, was released in June 2012. Brown’s ex-wife Whitney Houston passed away just over a year ago.
