Chicago duo The-Drum produce a trio of spaced-out tracks for a group of vocalists.
JODY has released their first EP, entitled Magique, collecting first offerings ‘Echos’ and ‘Floodin’ with the title track and a handful of playful interludes.
The-Drum’s Brandon Boom told us of the project’s organic, easy-going origins when ‘Echos’ premiered: “We had ideas of how the tracks should be sang and started recruiting our friends to do the singing. We just chill in our basement all day and make music, we have so many tracks.”
The EP features production from The-Drum, along with a rotating cast of vocalists that includes James King, David Robertson, Khallee Standberry-Lois, and executive producer Jeremiah Meece. Magique is first of three EPs that will be released in the lead-up the group’s debut album. The EP is available for $1 over on their Bandcamp page, which entreats listeners to “Turn on the Magique… Turn off the lights… Undress… JODY.” Sounds like a plan.
