Certified don Andrew Weatherall rolls back the years on a remix of Primal Scream’s ‘2013’. 

Weatherall, of course, took the helm for the chaotic sessions for Primal Scream’s breakthrough LP Screamadelica, making his name in the process. He’s remixed the band on the odd occasion since – see his dubby edit of 2008’s ‘Uptown’ single – and, as The Quietus note, he’s now taken on More Light fist-pumper ‘2013’. In contrast to the crisp motorik and disco found on the recent Asphodells LP, Weatherall’s remix is a blurry, soupy reimagining of the Scream’s flag-waving original.
