secretsundaze have announced a fine two-parter to kick off their 2013 season.
Techno progenitor Derrick May tops the bill at a daytime event at Greenwich’s 338 Studios. If you know Techno, you know May: since his days coming up with the Belleville Three, he’s continually set the pace for the genre under his Rhythim Is Rhythim, Mayday and R-Tyme projects. As head of Transmat, he’s also been responsible for one of the most influential techno labels ever, period. Highly recommended.
Soundstream, aka Frank Timm, will also be performing live. Timm’s disco deconstructions are rich, hypnotic and highly danceable, and aren’t to be missed. Aus Music regular Midland is also on the bill – expect rich, off-kilter house music. A supplementary evening event will take place at Peckham’s Bussey Building, and will host Metrolux’s XDB and Detroit young gun Jared Wilson. secretsundaze regulars James Priestley and Giles Smith will play both venues.
The parties take place on Sunday May 5. Part One runs from 2.00pm until 10.30pm, and the after-party runs from 10.00pm until 5.00am.
